definitieve-over-mezelf-4About me,

Bienvenidos a mi blog!

My name is Patricia; I was born in 1973 and grew up in a village in Flemish Brabant, Belgium.

In 1996 I graduated as an architect and for several years I ran an architect’s office. In 2000 I met my current partner Geert. We shared a sense of adventure and a desire for a warmer climate.

In 2004, we decided to try our luck in southern Spain. After living in the city of Granada and the mountain village of Macharaviaya for a few years, we ended up in Frigiliana.

By 2005 we had already started our own business: “Andalucía Vastgoed” (Andalusia Real Estate). We help people, mainly foreigners, with finding, buying or renovating a (holiday) home in the eastern part of the province of Málaga: the Axarquía.
The Mediterranean life did us good and meanwhile we feel at home here. We expanded our family with two creative and most active children: Alejandro (2008) and Elisa (2011).

When I’m not at work or busy with our kids, I can  completely lose myself in cooking or photography. I also like to go out for a nice dinner with friends.
I love the smell of fresh fruit, waking up with a coffee, and rummaging in cookbooks.

My love for cooking I definitely inherited from my mother. Waking up on a Sunday morning to the smell of vanilla when she had a cake in the oven or the baked apples for breakfast in the winter months…. Food cooked with love.

The Mediterranean cuisine here in Andalusia inspires me every day anew. A pure cuisine of vegetables, fruit, cheese and all kinds of herbs.
With this blog I mainly want to encourage people to cook with fresh ingredients without the need to spend hours in the kitchen every day.
Cooking has become a relaxing activity for me. That used to be different, but I’ll tell you more about that in “my story”.

Un abrazo,

Patricia

PS: All of the dishes and pictures have been made by me, without editing or other tricks…enjoy your meal!
